We employed Eden to redesign and landscape our garden which involved extensive works to include tiered terracing etc. It took approximately four men circa six months overall to complete. We had been looking for a company to do our small garden build for a while when Foras recommended David and Eden Landscapes. The Eden Landscape team came in for about 3 weeks to complete the hard landscaping and build, and did a fantastic job. From start to finish, David and his team were brilliant. We had an old, cracked, dilapidated pond which needed new life breathing into it. David came and surveyed the pond and gave us a couple of different options to get it up and running. From design to completion, David and his team handled everything. Over the last decade porcelain paving has become a very popular option in the UK. The main concept for porcelain paving is to provide a modern clean look and bring the quality of interior surfaces into the exterior. Porcelain pavers that are designed for the exterior are generally 20mm in depth compared to a max of 10mm for most interior tiles. Many landscapers will install porcelain paving in the same method that is generally used to install Indian sandstone paving, which is to bond the paving with a 5:1 mortar mix over a type 1 compacted sub-base. Most competent landscapers will also apply an PVA/Adhesive slurry mix to ensure the paver bonds to the mortar. However, while this is generally suitable for sandstone, we have found that it is not sufficient for porcelain pavers which need a higher degree of accuracy in installation as would be found in an interior scenario. This is why we always install a concrete screed over a type 1 sub-base before we bond the porcelain with a 4:1 mortar mix and PVA/Adhersive slurry. See our format below...
